Honest about what software can fix
Many slow computers improve noticeably once the software side is cleaned up. Some are simply old or underpowered for what they're being asked to do. If that's the case, I'll tell you plainly rather than keep billing, and explain what would actually help, whether that's more storage, more memory or a replacement. No specific speed improvement can be guaranteed.

Remote support covers a lot, but not everything. If your request falls into one of these areas, I'll say so before we start rather than after.

Often, yes. Startup programs, background apps, storage, browser clutter and update problems can all be investigated and improved remotely. If the cause is ageing hardware, I'll explain that honestly.
