Accessibility
Last updated 31 October 2026
I want everyone in East Gippsland to be able to use this website, whatever device they’re on and however they browse. The site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What I’ve done
- Text and buttons meet AA colour contrast, and nothing relies on colour alone.
- Every page works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a skip link to the main content.
- Pages use proper headings, landmarks and labels so screen readers can follow them.
- Text can be enlarged to 200% and pages reflow on small screens without sideways scrolling.
- Form fields have visible labels, required fields are marked, and errors are explained in words.
- Motion is kept to a minimum and switches off if your device asks for reduced motion.
Known limits
- The maps on the town pages come from Google Maps, which I can’t fully control. Each town is also described in text.
- The downloadable PDF checklists are simple documents but haven’t been fully tagged for screen readers. Ask and I’ll send the content another way.
